MF Racing, Varco join Palomar Racing for full-time WRL ride
04 February, 2023
FOR OFFICIAL RELEASE:
(San Diego, CA) Just last week, Southern Californian race team MF Racing added local driver Austin Varco to their endurance lineup for 2023. The team would compete in select WERC (Western Endurance Racing Championship) and WRL (World Racing League) events. The team met with championship contender and multi-car WRL team, Palomar Racing, and decided that they would join forces, adding a third car to the Palomar lineup. Austin, uncertain of his 2023 racing plans, will compete as the main driver in the third car effort and act as a standing reserve for the other Palomar cars.
“I’m very happy to do so much endurance racing this year — I think building a balance between the all-out aggression of sprint racing and the long game will be hugely beneficial as I grow in my career in sports-car and stock-car racing.” The offer extends after Varco competed against MF Racing at Auto Club Speedway in WERC last year. The team will bid a race-prepped BMW E46 positioned in contention for E2 & GP2 class victory. While the schedule is tentative, the team will be running select WERC events, and a full-time WRL championship across the country.
